Bare Existence

A MESSAGE FROM BEARS, TO THE WORLD

Canada is home to a third of the world’s polar bear population. Based in Churchill Manitoba, Polar Bears International (PBI) is a global leader in the research and conservation of the Arctic habitat they depend on for survival.

In an effort to reach new audiences with the PBI story, we created a short film called Bare Existence which paints an intimate portrait of three generations of PBI, dedicating their lives to this important cause.

To extend the story, we partnered with cult toy brand Medicom to create a limited edition BEARBRICK. Working with Hypebeast to distribute both the film and the bears, we reached a culturally engaged audience and increased fund raising efforts behind the campaign.

"Thank you for sharing this film with us. You moved me to tears, inspired me and helped me find the kind of film we’re showing at Crested Butte this year. I applaud you for the power of this story and the confidence in its creation. The world is in good hands with you young people.”
